A soldier with the U.S. Army was found guilty on Wednesday of deliberately destroying three Army vehicles by cutting the parachute straps on Humvees that were dropped during an airborne exercise in southern Germany…

Read this in the news just before "tuning in" here to TMP land. Would be nice if after his dismissal, they would fly him home and "drop him off" in his backyard.

I recall that clip making the rounds awhile back. Glad they found the cause

Oh, I see, he cut the straps *before* they dropped.

Would be a rather different story if they charged him for cutting the straps after landing…

NO Laughing!

Punished for laughing? i'd be laughing too, that's part of the fun of being in the military. We laughed when guys flipped their forklift of the loading doc and when the crane dropped our van and the A/C unit slammed on the computers. the other guy had to know that they'd go looking for the cause of the failures though.

How did he manage to do it on three different aircraft though?

As I understand it he was a parachute packer so his work was on several planes. Inexcusable, make him pay for the vehicles when he gets out of prison.

Doesn't look like he got prison, just kicked out….
