I just finished my second squad of Sons of Horus veterans for my Istvaan III game.
These guys will form the core of the SoH force on the table along with their fellow veterans. Everything else will be built around them. They will be lead by Garviel Loken.
Right now I have a plasma gun and a melta gun in each squad but I think I'm going to put two plasma guns in one squad and two melta guns in the other.
Fortunately there aren't really any distinctive squad markings to make them one unit or the other. It doesn't seem like the SoH had real permanent squads anyway and certainly survivors on Istvaan III wouldn't have maintained much of a coherent command structure.
The sergeant has replaced his damaged gauntlet and vambrace with that of an Emperor's Children marine. I added this in to show they were grizzled veterans from Istvaan III. I didn't want to go too overboard with it on these guys like I did on the World Eaters because I want to be able to use them for a Molech campaign at some point.
The Shardwrack Spine you see there I bought yesterday and am getting them painted up for our Necromunda campaign day on Saturday for one of the new scenarios.
