I'm painting some Xyston Indian Maiden Guard, and I'm not sure what they're supposed to be wearing on their heads. Is this cloth or metal? I've seen a couple of painted examples of these minis but I'm not sure what they're supposed to look like. Any suggestions or citations? Thanks.

Maiden guard back in the 1970s had several different styles from a tiered cap to bareheaded. This seems to show a turban wrap rather than the solid tiered cap. I like it.

The Essex ones look like more of a solid cap. I painted mine bronze. These look more like turbans so maybe some bright colors would be nice

How tall are these Xyston figures?

Not really helpful :)
I decided they were turbans, so red might still work.
