Do you paint minis while watching football?

Winston Smith07 May 2018 10:30 p.m. PST

No

I sometimes paint whilst watching baseball…

GildasFacit Sponsoring Member of TMP08 May 2018 1:27 a.m. PST

I don't watch sport at all, painting or not.

ZULUPAUL Supporting Member of TMP08 May 2018 2:51 a.m. PST

No, I don't paint watching anything. I listen to the radio or CDs.

Texas Jack08 May 2018 3:45 a.m. PST

Not me, football is too much of an event for me not to give it all of my attention.

Extrabio1947 Supporting Member of TMP08 May 2018 4:00 a.m. PST

What Texas Jack said…

PzGeneral08 May 2018 4:08 a.m. PST

I used to. But as my eyes got older they stopped focusing quickly enough to do both effectively. Now it's podcasts or Pluto TV on my tablet.

Timmo uk08 May 2018 4:26 a.m. PST

No but I often listen to documentaries, pod casts or audio books while painting.

95th Division08 May 2018 5:17 a.m. PST

I listen to both football and baseball on the radio while painting. There's no TV in my painting area and it would probably be too distracting anyway.

23rdFusilier08 May 2018 5:26 a.m. PST

No. Would be too busy watching the game and wrapped up in its excitement.

Stosstruppen08 May 2018 5:45 a.m. PST

no

Yes. All kinds of football, NFL, Premier League, Bundes League

jefritrout08 May 2018 6:26 a.m. PST

American Football is perfect for painting. 30 seconds for the huddle and a 4 second play. It lets you focus your eyes across the room for a few seconds to relieve the strain on the eyes. However, I do clean the brush during the 2 minute warning and give full attention to the end of each half.

I also watch (listen) to basketball, hockey, ROW Football during my painting sessions. But truthfully, that is more like listening to the radio with glances up when the announcers raise their voice as if something is going to happen. I then get to watch the replays.

I cleaned and filed 49 infantry and 18 cavalry during the Cavs game last night. I have to say Cavs game because the Raptors didn't really show up to play. A further 27 horses during the Predators games as well.

mad monkey 108 May 2018 6:26 a.m. PST

Watch it at the bar.

Martian Root Canal08 May 2018 6:48 a.m. PST

No. Now hockey, on the other hand, is always on at the house, especially when painting or prepping figures.

Fat Wally08 May 2018 6:52 a.m. PST

Yes.

Gone Fishing08 May 2018 7:50 a.m. PST

I love painting and I love to watch the occasional football game, but would never mix the two.

While painting I enjoy listening to music (90% Classical) or silence.

PrivateSnafu08 May 2018 8:05 a.m. PST

Football…ahh…Sunday naps.

general btsherman08 May 2018 9:05 a.m. PST

yes

KSmyth08 May 2018 10:11 a.m. PST

Yes, I watch chiefly baseball while painting, but football too.

Oberlindes Sol LIC Supporting Member of TMP08 May 2018 10:31 a.m. PST

I don't watch football, and I'm not going to bring miniatures and paints to a baseball game.

Baseball is are for hanging out with friends, drinking beer, and eating hot dogs.

Painting whether alone or with friends, is not for eating or drinking. I don't want paint in my food nor food in my paint.

Rudysnelson08 May 2018 11:49 a.m. PST

No

14Bore08 May 2018 11:52 a.m. PST

No, music ( YouTube mostly) and podcasts

BrockLanders08 May 2018 12:54 p.m. PST

Both football and baseball are ideal for painting figs, so much down time/delays/commercials. I get a ton done while watching sports

Personal logo etotheipi Sponsoring Member of TMP08 May 2018 2:32 p.m. PST

Yes. Well, while listening to sports, including gridiron football.

22ndFoot08 May 2018 2:35 p.m. PST

I have a computer on my painting desk which allows me to watch association football, Rugby union football and cricket although "listen to" would be a more accurate description than "watch."

wrgmr108 May 2018 4:35 p.m. PST

Sometimes, while I watch the Seahawks.

huron725 Supporting Member of TMP08 May 2018 5:15 p.m. PST

No. Becoming less and less of a sports fan.

saltflats192908 May 2018 5:53 p.m. PST

No. While painting I listen to my wife yelling "What are you doing upstairs?" and replying with various lies.

advocate08 May 2018 11:49 p.m. PST

Why so specific? Ask what people do as they paint.
As it is one friend who painted a large Napoleonic army whilst watching soccer would just have to answer 'No'. Hardly a useful exercise.

Old Wolfman09 May 2018 7:05 a.m. PST

I've painted while the missus was watching some other stuff on the TV,as well as other times..

Personal logo etotheipi Sponsoring Member of TMP09 May 2018 1:28 p.m. PST

Sometimes, while I watch the Seahawks.

Doesn't that interfere with your ability to color match?

Of course, I have no room to talk. I live in the Democratic People's Republic of Maryland.

No … usually the news …

JCD196410 May 2018 11:11 p.m. PST

I've been watching the new USA Major League Rugby which is greatly eating into my painting time. The more I watch the less I paint…

Old Contemptibles12 May 2018 12:52 p.m. PST

Depends on who is playing. If it is a team or game I am interested in, then I am not painting. I am giving my full attention to the game.

If it is a game or teams I don't care about, then I leave it on as a background and paint.

Joes Shop Supporting Member of TMP12 May 2018 2:17 p.m. PST

No. No interest in football.

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP12 May 2018 3:47 p.m. PST

Even though I played sports in High School, including football, was on intramural teams in college as well as on active duty. I don't follow sports much …

Howler12 May 2018 9:55 p.m. PST

No. I watch the game and beat my "Damnit Saban" rag doll.
