So, it's not a miniatures post, but I take the oldest war-game of all into the 23rd century, Star Trek style: link Includes rules created by yours truly (as the ones I found on the web really were way too kludgy, IMHO). Give it a try; it's really not a hard build to figure out for yourself. And I think my rules are clear, fun, and fairly easy to grasp and play. The set is currently in use at the teen library department where I work. To quote a teen discovering the implications of 3D movement: "Oh, wow…" |

UPDATE: Although the diagram-based rules I linked to on the blog are quite clear and will get you started easily (only 2 pages, too!), I have now updated the blog to also include a more detailed written ruleset to better explain vertical movement, warp board movement, and such unique-to-3D details as pawn promotion and castling, etc.. There's really not much to add, but it should answer any questions… and this file is also only 2 pages! |
