Wow, I had no idea that someone had done comics for that 1970 tv series:

Well, I hope it gets some of you interested in doing some Retro/Pulp SF gaming and terrain making!

Crooked Dice stock the Tarv miniatures aliens figures which would work perfectly for UFO games.

Those interceptors were basically useless if they missed the target after firing their one missile, right?

They did attack in threes to improve the odds.

QUESTION:
Would the ground action work best if done in 6mm?

Dan
PS. These infantry guys look sufficiently "Retro" to you for that role … if painted the right colors?

Crooked Dice have some nice ones in 28mm. The concept certainly fits the genre of their 7TV Spy-Fi game.

Aliens

They have a limited assortment of male Moonbase Astronauts, but not a full range yet. Maybe someday!

Given that in the TV series there never seems to be more than 1 UFO getting through, 6 mm would be played on a very small playing area. 3 Shado Mobiles with a couple of troops in each vs 1 Alien. 28mm would seem to be the way to go. Use the Tarv Aliens from them or Crooked Dice and bare headed minions from Crooked Dice for the Shado operatives and lots of trees.

IMO, since many "battles" of that series would be smaller actions, any scale would work. But I'm a 6mm sci-fi … So ! evil grin

Those Darkest Star 6mm figs look great in both design and paint jobs. I have a unit if their 6mm K'hiff !

And the good thing about alien saucer designs. A lot stuff around the house like bottle caps, etc. or bitz you can find at a craft store, etc. would work ! Of course there are a number of models available too "out there" … link

I used an Exodus War "UFO" from HLS for my 6mm Squats … but I think you know where I got the idea for it's color scheme and decals … iron cross evil grin

WIth 6mm, you could do up a very decent model of the Moonbase and quite a lot of moonscape expanding out and beyond giving SHADO 2 plenty of room to roam!
