I have recently finished reading this account of a dramatic eighteen months in Roman history and have shared my thoughts on the book.

Morgan's book is very good and Wellesley's is excellent. Both provide a fairly complete narratives and solid analysis. I did not care for the Fields book as only a small part of it actually dealt with the Year of the Four Emperors; it mostly consists inapt analogies and rambling digressions about Fields' person beliefs on topics unrelated to the purported subject of the book.
