Sounds more like wishful thinking by Royalists to me. A Jacobite or Bonapartist restoration seems more likely. Even Danaerys Targaryen mocks the reports that "the people" drink secret toasts for her return. There was never any great love for the Pahlavi dynasty. That's one of the main reasons it was overthrown. There would be even less for the return of what would inevitably be called an American lackey. |

A DEAD Shah. The article is mere propaganda, with absolutely nothing in it to support the notion that its anything but an archeological find. No quotes. No surveys. No sources. We GAME war. We need not cheerlead for more wars. |

Here is BBC' take: link It sure would be interesting if this became the spark that brings Iran back to a more secular form of government. Definitely worth watching. People there are just waiting for the right spark for revolution. Dan PS. Pan Marek, you do know there are two different Ultramodern boards, right? One of those is strictly for gaming? Hint, it's not this one. |

This could also become the basis for an interesting zombie game! Dan PS. Or a ghost that keeps haunting Khamenei:

@ panmarek You fail to understand the power that a deceased leader can impose on a current situation. Many times martyrs are much more powerful than the current oppressors. And apparently your news sources have failed to mention the ongoing unrest in Iran and that this could help set off the spark of the revolt that destroys the cure3nt corrupt regime. I have met many Iranians who long for the return of the Shah. |

So which Shah is which? This is the father of the Shah who was buried in Egypt? This was the Shah that was interred in Egypt and was spirited away? A lot could be explained if the title of the article were clearer. It the father Reza Shah, not Mohammad Reza Shah, his son and the last Shah of Iran. |

I think the theocratic regime needs to try to clone him and create an Ayatollah-Shah figurehead. Dan |

Lots of Persians outside Iran long for the Shah. They tend to be ones who fled precisely because of that. Using them as a guide to what's happening inside Iran is useless. Lots of Russians outside the USSR kept saying it was corrupt and would fall any minute too. Long after they died it did. But not for the restoration of the Tsar. It's what emigre communities always say. |

It's not what the expats say that I'm referring to. There is lots of unrest in Iran these days. It's a powder keg. Dan |

You mean like this? If so, that will put the fear of whatever into them. Dan PS. Not sure how many Shi'a tombstones say "RIP" though. But if he's waving then he's not resting. Maybe he's arm wrestling Saddam.
