Just to tell everyone we are going to have one of the most interesting conventions, this is going to be HUGH.

Perry Brothers and they will put on demonstrations with Hobby U, and will receive the Scruby Award.

50th Anniversary of SPI "Strategy and Tactics Magazine
Al Nofi, Jim Dunnigan, David Iaby, Howard Barasch will have lectures, and there will be an open round table.

It would be great to attend a chat with the Perry twins.

Who is "Hugh" and why is going to be an interesting convention????

Ragbones27 Apr 2018 11:59 a.m. PST

I'd love to hear the gentlemen from SPI speak.

Wackmole927 Apr 2018 12:11 p.m. PST

Sound like a great line up.

This is GREAT!! I remember meeting the Perry brothers at Historicon at Valley Forge. Looks like the current Board are really making Historicon great again!

Simon Hall one if the authors of FoG snd the only author if Mortem Et Glorism ancients/medieval rules will be in attendance as well.

I saw Dunnigan give advice to the PLO one time when he was a pundit on TV.
The PLO shot a missile at an Israeli jet liner and missed.
Dunnigan opined that it was probably due to bad battery maintenance.
I want to watch him justify giving "better luck next time" advice.

Thanks for the heads up, good to see some advertising, Historicon has always been great imo. I hope to see the SPI chaps as they were in part my gateway into the hobby.

Note that the HMGS Legion of Honor selected the Perry Brothers as Scruby Award winners, which, I believe, entitles them to attend the convention gratis. Perhaps the Board allocates the funds for this. Not to detract from all the other positive aspects, just wanted to give some background on this.

I'm curious – what difference would this make?

You obviously don't speak New Yawk, Murphy.
Translators will be available at the convention.

All joking aside, it is an impressive lineup of speakers, artists and special guests.

Hope to see you there.

Schogun29 Apr 2018 4:52 p.m. PST

Word is Richard Clarke from Too Fat Lardies will also be attending.

Winston Smith29 Apr 2018 5:17 p.m. PST

I should HOPE that Legion of Honor members attend gratis and are comped. Otherwise, what's the point?

Who is "Hugh" and why is going to be an interesting convention????

I think it's a typo, and that Yankees meant to write "YUGH".

I love it that the SPI folks will be there! How well I remember getting an invitation in 1968 to be a lifetime member of SPI for the low low price of $100.00 USD. As a college senior with no job prospects and little money, I had to turn down the offer. What if?!?!

Some years later, I ordered *Campaign for North Africa* and after all the design and production delays, it arrived at a tiny post office in a corner of the only store in Truchas NM, where I was doing a summer internship. Never did know how they tracked me down! In the fall, when I went back to grad school, another copy of the game awaited me there. The map stayed on my dorm room wall until I graduated.

A nephew of mine actually played CNA with a group of friends. It was set up for years on ping pong tables in the (large) basement of my sister's house in Georgia.

I have most of the first 200 issues of S&T. Remember waiting by the mail box for the latest issue as a boy. Is it too much of a fan-boy thing to bring one issue and ask for autographs?

I have a copy of Scrimmage.

It may be worth the trip, just to see if Winston can actually summon up the fortitude to "confront" Jim Dunnigan.
