On a scale of 1-10? 1 means paint goes exactly where you intend; 10 means you inadvertently, but with regularity, get paint on your fingers and hands, all up and down your paint brush, paint bottles, table surface, and other places nearby. I'm not talking about the quality of your miniatures, but all the periphery items and tools deployed in a painting session. |

15-one time in a painting class a fellow participant who was a nurse brought me a set of surgical scrubs to help keep the paint off the table , floor- other members etc |

Probably a seven. My workstation starts out neat, but gets to be a cluttered mess quickly. I tend to spill paint jars when I have too much, too close at hand. |

I am probably a 3. I use newspaper to cover my work area, and I wipe my brushes on the newspaper for drybrushing. But otherwise very neat and tidy. |

2. Years ago spilled a bottle of Floquil Black that I had too close. Fortunately was using a piece of cardboard as a workbase and that took the brunt so that the cleanup on the table was minor. Since then I am very careful with the placement of open bottles and have avoided a repeat. Have seen a few microdots on the cardboard from brush spatter. |

Clean as I want to be but not as clean as my wife wishes. |

3-4 if I'm honest. I do a lot of touch up to make up for mistakes, but overall I get paint going mostly where I want. |

2. I don't paint well or a lot but it usually goes in the general direction I am aiming. Edit: I think there is a bladder joke in there somewhere but this is a family show. |

My painting table is like war zone – Wargaming friends recently expressed actual horror on seeing it – I confess to being quietly chuffed – there is paint everywhere and I regularly lose stuff on it! |

7-8 once dumped o bottle of black paint on my dress pants when I "had" to put just a touch of paint on a figure before going to church. |

2. I just brushed a sweater across the top of an open bottle of paint. Now that I've jinxed myself, probably a future 9…. |
razuse | 27 Apr 2018 4:52 a.m. PST |
good or bad, I use my hand as a painting pallet…and the tops of painting jars….certainly not neat!!! |
Flashman14 | 27 Apr 2018 5:47 a.m. PST |
@razuse – the question is a reflection of your intention. If you intend to paint on your hand and jars then you are closer to the 1. |

5 … all I do is 6mm. So I try to get every bit of detail on my figures, AFVs, etc. However, I/it can get a bit messy in the process … Albeit my workbench looks like an example of the Chaotic Universe Theory … |
