This time we got Citadel White Box SS4 – Goblin Raiding Party

and Saruman with his personal bodyguard of Citadel 80s LOTR Half-Orcs.

The White Wizard approaches.

Saruman!
His Half Orc bodyguards always keep a watchful "eye" (of Sauron?!).
OK, how about they are always close on "hand" (of Saruman… much better!)

That's a fantastic post. The late 70s and early 80s were incredible times for fantasy gamers, even if the miniatures weren't always that great.

aegiscg47,
I actually grew up in the "C" series era not pre-slotta, so I dont have rose tinted glasses for them. I only collected them to collect them. But now, years later, I think Ive genuinely grown fond of them despite their crudeness.

Lee John Ayre,
I believe UK inflation rate from 80s to today is about 300%. So thats like the equivalent of £12.00 GBP Which is about $16 USD USD for 10 figures or $1.60 USD per gobbo. Current GW plastic (well 8th/AOS) Moonclan Grots is a box of 20 minis for $35 USD or $1.75 USD per figure! So, thats not too bad at all! Except its metal for plastic.

Why green if the half-orcs are Tolkien based?

Thomas Thomas,

My blog is primarily an Oldhammer campaign with a very loose comedic veneer of Middle Earth/Game of Thrones/Conan/AD&D and whatever else IP I can shoehorn.
Which is what Warhammer was supposed to be about before they got all serious with their fluff… a spoof of Tolkien and Elric with some flavor of Gygax on top.
