Today we finally had our first day of priming-suitable weather here in New England. I used a combination of Army Painter sprays: Matte White, Matte Black, and Fur Brown, and also Testors Model Master Flat Gull Gray for the vehicles, the AT-ST and the AT-RT walkers.

All in all the priming went well. I've noticed that Army Painter sprays tend to be a bit on the chalkier/grittier side of a finish, but they don't obscure detail and they work pretty well. Their Goblin Green spray however worked even better on plastics when I was doing my Nurgle stuff.

But in any event here's a bunch of pics. of the results. The Testors Model Master Flat Gull Gray is a PERFECT base color for that Star Wars-looking production gray you see in the movies. It looks absolutely beautiful on the AT-ST as well as on the rebel AT-RT. Will definitely be using more of that in the future on other projects!

I don't remember the walkers (AT-ST??, in your first picture) being so large. Is there more than one type or has the maker of these minis taken poetic liscence with them?

No, actually it's right in scale with the troopers. Maybe it looks bigger because of the way I photographed it.

But as in the movies it's about several times the height of a human-sized figure.
