Today we finally had our first day of priming-suitable weather here in New England. I used a combination of Army Painter sprays: Matte White, Matte Black, and Fur Brown, and also Testors Model Master Flat Gull Gray for the vehicles, the AT-ST and the AT-RT walkers. All in all the priming went well. I've noticed that Army Painter sprays tend to be a bit on the chalkier/grittier side of a finish, but they don't obscure detail and they work pretty well. Their Goblin Green spray however worked even better on plastics when I was doing my Nurgle stuff. But in any event here's a bunch of pics. of the results. The Testors Model Master Flat Gull Gray is a PERFECT base color for that Star Wars-looking production gray you see in the movies. It looks absolutely beautiful on the AT-ST as well as on the rebel AT-RT. Will definitely be using more of that in the future on other projects! link link link link link link link link link link link link link link |

I don't remember the walkers (AT-ST??, in your first picture) being so large. Is there more than one type or has the maker of these minis taken poetic liscence with them? |

No, actually it's right in scale with the troopers. Maybe it looks bigger because of the way I photographed it. But as in the movies it's about several times the height of a human-sized figure. |
