was thinking of doing up a squad or two of US Marines/sailors for a scenario Ive been working on. something like "US ship in port for diplomatic reasons chaos ensues at docks" or having to defend a gun boat to keep it from falling into someone else's hands. I figure the pulp marines would work well for lead. Just looking for ideas/input to flesh it out |

Re-taking a seized American steamer and rescuing crew and passengers. Escorting the American Embassy Staff after all of them are recalled back to the US. Unofficially, delivering guns and supplies to a US-favored faction. |

The Pulp Naval Landing Party figures would work as well. Reviresco also makes a few 1/64 sailors with rifles. Vessels were expected to maintain a naval landing force to deal with emergencies and on-shore disturbances ranging from a couple of squads to a couple of companies supported by machine guns and light artillery, depending on the size of the vessel. |

I did a 2 part scene from the movie the Sand Pebbles. First part was the escape from the dock with the rioting crowds (I used Boxer figures and Nationalist Army figures), the second part was breaking the barricade of junks and small sampans. I used Pulp figure sailors and I now have some Marines to do the game again. Next scenario is the rescue from the mission. |

Salutations, gentlefolk, Once owned a copy of the 1940 (or so) edition of _The Bluejacket's Manual_, was a section therein on 'basic infantry tactics' for landing parties. Would scan it for you, but unfortunately the attrition of the decades… Sorry |

Great ideas for a VBCW scenario. I have all the navy and marine figures left from warlord China games. My son wanted some US troops in the VBCW, so he did up a unit of the Jefferson Davis Brigade, using the Pulp Figures marines
We play many games based on the Confederacy winning the civil war, as written about in Harry Turtledove novels. Thus CSA sides with Royals/BUF, while USA allies with Anglican League. |
