I have commissioned an ex-Foundry sculptor to do a new range of Mongols for me. The first dozen greens have arrived so I have posted some pictures on my blog.

Here is one of the figures assembled with blue tac – the head, and in some cases the upper and lower body are all being molded seperately to give greater variety.

I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this. Metal, plastic or resin?

Emperorbaz22 Apr 2018 8:22 a.m. PST

Metal

Really like the character figures, especially the leader with the falcon.

Skeptic22 Apr 2018 4:28 p.m. PST

Not bad! The rider looks a bit small, compared to his pony.

ultimatewargamer22 Apr 2018 7:02 p.m. PST

As soon as they are ready,i will buy some.

Skeptic. Interesting to hear your POV. Maybe when you see the sideways on view you will see that the knee is bent because the mingols used a high stirrup, so the button of the boot is aligned with the belly of the pony. Thanks all

Should read mongols not mingols and bottom not button. Urgh these predictive text tools!

I really like those and am a fan of metal figures as well. I always wanted to do the Battle of Ain Jalut.

Emperorbaz23 Apr 2018 11:53 a.m. PST

Better do some Mamluks next then!

Snowcat23 Apr 2018 2:09 p.m. PST

Looking good.

Re the rider-pony proportions, the feet do get pretty low even with the Mongol saddle and stirrup arrangement.

Wonderful! How do they compare in size with some other brands? eg. Perry's (Not the same range but just sizing)

Emperorbaz24 Apr 2018 8:06 p.m. PST

As soon as I get the castings back I'll do some comparison shots

Here a link to a comparison shot on my new wordpress blog
I would be interested to hear your feedback
