I notice redoubt has changed hands and was wondering if their musketeer rules are their own or are they the Osprey En garde version ?

Reason being I seem to remember Redoubt having the rules long before osprey published theirs ?

Thanks

Pete

If you can find a copy try the GDW version from the 1980's they share the same title and subject matter not aware if the later is a direct sequel or just similar title

Which is proof you can't copyright a title.

Apparently you can buy a copy of the original rules: auction

I remember that toadying was quite useful in the original rules. Don't know about the Redoubt version.

Love the GDW rules. Was quite thrilled when a friend gave me a copy a few years back.

His Majesty in his Divine Wisdom has consulted and conferred with Maria, Regent, His First Minister Cardinal De Richelieu and The Minister of State and Minister of War and determined an AUDACIOUS, BOLD and INSPIRED plan for the Army this Summer Campaign Season.

From June through August 1610, The Annual Summer Campaign Season, The King will Order a Field Army to conduct Field Operations as follows

Field Army
1st Division (1, 2 Bdes Foot) (RM,PM,13F,53F)
2nd Division (4 Bde, RNHB) (69A,GR,RNHB)
Frontier Division (Frontier Regts)
Dragoon Bde (GDMD,PLLD)

Members of these units will leave Paris with their units for three months for the Regular Summer Campaign Season, returning at the end of August for the Announcement of Military Appointments and plans for the next Year.

All Brigade, Divisional and Army Command, Adjutant, Aides to Staff Officers and Brigade Major Military Appointments currently stand empty.

The Inspectors-General of Cavalry and Infantry are scouring the Staff Corps for Brigadiers of daring and resolve to lead each Brigade this Summer and will also consider petitions from other Squadron and Battalion Commanders who wish to Volunteer their units for Frontier Duties Before and After the Summer Campaign Season.

His Excellency The Field Marshal is set on his plan, but may be persuaded via petition from Regimental Commanders to Substitute one Regiment for The Summer Campaign.

As always, The Borders of France are constantly patrolled year round by The Four Frontier Regiments and the Crack, Dashing and Illustrious Royal North Highland Border Regiment.

Players stout enough to Risk a Fatal Musket-ball have His Majesty's License at any point for leave-of-absence(or Senses!) from Paris to join the Frontier Units for the remainder of the current campaign season and maintain their positions with their Current Regiment.

Brigade, Regiment, Battalion and Squadron Commanders may volunteer all or part of their commands (Sqn/Bttns or larger) for Campaign duty at the Frontier for whatever remains of the Current (non-Summer) Campaign Season.

Don't forget to Duck!

May God Grant Success to the King's Army!

Has anyone created a PDF version of the original offer one rules character profile sheet? I've started to run some games at my local club lately and would really love to take advantage if anyone's done that.

Thanks,
Dave.
