Beautiful! I always like the look of tall ships. Here in Chicago we get a few every summer and they line up on Navy Pier. Of course they charge a great deal of money to park and then pay to go on board. Oh and do not think of eating anything under $15.00 USD per person plus a $4.00 USD soft drink.

Reminds me of the time in the '80's when a bunch of freshman came to the library reference desk looking for a photograph of the original Mayflower. Yes, it was an actual assignment in a history class.

These were some of the participants in the 2018 Tall Ship Challenge that started in Galveston this year. I snapped them as we came in from a cruise. There were two others, but they were out taking people on sails, so I didn't get pictures of them.

As an addendum to Princeman's very accurate observation, in Chicago you can expect masses of the ignorant, not knowing what they are looking at and not really caring. Parenting seems to be a lost art in metro-Chicago, from the affluent to the impoverished.

Funny thing about Navy Pier; you can cruise in your yacht all around Navy Pier and Dime Pier, but there is no where to dock. There is not one shore-side restaurant to dock and eat, unless you belong to a sparse number of yacht clubs. Lake Michigan's Illinois coast line is a waste. Go to Wisconsin, Indiana or Michigan and wait for the tall ships to dock there.
