You've done it again Simon! Received my copy of the rules last week and as one would expect, they look and read nicely. I love the dash rules.

Not interested in the ECW and thank goodness, as this would tempt me so much. I do love TtS ancients rules though.

Your games are so impressive looking every time.

Nice looking game. I'm reading the rules and they are very good.

Looks great. Are the rules suitable for the smaller actions or are they best for major pitched battles?

Hi Timmo,

They are aimed at battles from around 2000 a side upwards. A typical foot battalia represents 500 men*, and a unit of horse 250-450, so this would give around half-a-dozen units a side. I particularly enjoy battles around twice that size, such as the Montgomery scenario in the rulebook, which usually last up to 90 minutes.

It also works very well for the larger battles- we've fought Edgehill and Naseby in around two-and-a-half hours each.

Best, Simon

*Sometimes we use 300 men units in the smaller armies, Montrose's campaigns for example.
