And … is there a photo of that short barreled weapon all by itself somewhere? Thanks Dan

T97 bullpup rifle, chambered in 5.56, CC. |

Thanks. Is the barrel typically that short? Dan |

I jumped too soon without looking hard enough, CC. Looks more like an smg/machine pistol, using pistol ammo. Now I'm curious…gotta research this myself. |

Oops, I think you posted a thanks for the pic while I was editing it out of my response. |

Lol. No wonder the pictures I found of T97s looked different. Dan |

Whatever it is, it is definitely a pistol-caliber SMG-type weapon. That looks very similar to an MP-5 magazine, come to think of it. |

I think that she's wearing the helmet and insignia of a soldier attached to UN peacekeeping forces. The weapons looks practical for a driver or someone like that -- sort of a super-pistol, for when there isn't space to carry or use a rifle or even a larger SMG. Does anyone make figures like that in 25mm? |

I'll go with the QCW, lol. Oberlindes, Empress has modern PLAs, in 28mm, though. |

Too bad 5.8 sucks as a round. It's still basically a .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire, a 40grain slug at ~1600-2200fps depending on barrel length. It's good for organized warfare, where someone catching a round will lie down and wait for his medic to come to him. Utterly useless in the third world when you need to stop that qat-chewing Somali from taking your head off with a machete. |

Lion So I guess it wouldn't work well with some of our own drug-crazed samurai sword wielding idiots either? Dan |

Unless you manage to cut the guy's heart in half with the shot (which has apparently happened with the original AP ammo for the P90. Once.). I'll take something larger, like a 9mm (or better yet, the .45). |

The important thing is that it is easily handled by small women soldiers. Like how so much of our military equipment is designed these days. |

LOL. Wow, is that the trend now? Made for shorter people (women, and some ethnicities)? Dan |

@CC: well, the reason the Army bought the Sig to replace the M9 was because the Sig has replaceable grip panels to allow people with smaller hands to hang onto the thing! One guy in my gaming group can't shoot my CZ75 (doublestack 9mm), but my 1911 fits him great. And the Asian nations in particular have a cultural thing about how the ideal woman is barely up to your chin, which makes for very petite female police and military. So petite that they have to use the left hand to operate the slide stop of a pistol, and are basically grabbing the front of the trigger guard for their "proper grip"! |
