Sweden was against Napoleon, and yet they asked one of Napoleon's Marshals (Bernadotte) to be their King.

If Finland had been Swedish backwater in 1930's Russians would've easily invaded us. No miracle of Winter War.

Therefore we wouldn't have gained independence from Soviet Union/Russia in 1917. Perhaps in the late 80's along with the Baltic states. So we'd probably be in shambles and dire straits.
