Looks like she got the cellular sculpture treatment in the "Spaceways" novels; Cells are adjusted at birth for strengthening, fibrous growth and general re-shaping from natural forms to create a form of inbuilt plastic surgery in some societies in that universe. Cowper's tendons turned into networked fibers are probably working here. Though she seems Caucasian. They're extinct in that universe . . . |
