Actually anything between 25mm and 32mm will do. Preferably in metal.

Suggestions?

Dan,
Only thing I've seen are 54mm plastic Cuban Revolution figures by Engineer Basevich. Maybe check out the Thrilling Tales range from Artizan? Available as single figures, may be some conversion potential.

WARNING!!!
Historical smoking!

As an aside, I wonder what path History would have taken, if he had made his tryout with the Chicago White Sox. I hear he was a decent pitcher, but no bat. And back in the 50s with no DH, that was important.

EDIT.
No. It was the Washington Senators. Not the White Sox.
And apparently there was a novel speculating on that very topic!

There was an old Grenadier miniature from the mercenary line we used as Fidel but he had an M-60.

Would it be incredibly difficult to convert this plastic figure into a bronze of Che, for the centerpiece statue in a town square?

I've never had to add green stuff to a vinyl pre-painted figure before. I have no idea if it would adhere. It needs green stuff for the hair and maybe for repositioning his right arm. One fist in the air is more than enough, I would think. :)

Anyone know how well these pre-painted figures take green stuff?

Reaper minis make a Che figure. Wrong hat, but it may get you close to what you want.

Wow, I had no idea they made a Che already. Thanks!

I used the Che head and the reaper surfer dude to make a Rastafarian for a Bond in Jamaica scenario.

The Che figure is slinging an M-1 carbine the size of an M-14 but don't let that stop you. His cigar makes a perfect oversize blunt.

Also, until I saw these pictures, I had no idea just how lousy Fidel's tailor was.
