I'm looking to get back into ACW gaming after too many years away. At the moment I'm looking at the new Lancashire Miniatures 18mm range and also the Blaze Away 10mm range. I have a few samples of the Blaze Away figures but nothing on the 18mm figures except photos on their website. Has anyone purchased these figures and if so then can you let me know what you think please? I'd like to make a choice before their current sale ends so I can get started.
Thanks.

I have started my ACW in 10mm and moved away from 15s in hopes of faster painting and that no-one else had an existing Army to join with.
I have not had any regrets going 10 for ACW and would have considered from Nap but had already committed to far to 15s.
My ACW have been the cracker Line 10s.
These Blaze Aways look real good and could mess with my CLs- thanks for the presentation.

Although I haven't actually got any of their ACW figures I do have tons of Lancashire games 15mm. My opinion is although they can look a little crude enlarged on your screen they aren't that bad in the flesh and they look great en masse painted up.
They are quite inexpensive too and even better when the sales are on which is frequently.

The painted figures they use promoting the 18mm ACW range are mine. They paint up well and have lots of character. Some of the weapons are a bit chunky with oversize hands. I like them even though they tower over my other ACW figures.
The main drawback for the range is the lack of figures for "typical" Confederates. All the infantry (and most of the artillery) wear sack coats….unusual for a "modern" range.

You might want to also look at the AB & Blue Moon Ranges of 18mm ACW figures. While they are more expensive they will fill holes for specific figures & provide Confederates in more 'typical' dress.

I've got both AB and Blue Moon in my Confederate ranks. They are far slimmer than the Lancashire figures. Could be considered historically accurate I suppose.
