I know that can't be it, because the guy on the right is sent off on a rocket and not a cannon, but I don't see what other connection of the two events it might be referring to. :)

Hey, I recognize some of the people in that clip !!!

The daredevil is Howie Tzer. The large man in the golf cart is his best friend Art Tillary. The woman in the foreground is Katie Pault.
