Hello all. I'm probably going to be in Ottawa next month. I've already got a list of museums to visit but can anyone suggest any game/hobby stores or book stores with a decent selection of military history?

Thanks

where r u staying in Ottawa?

1) FANDOM II: almost at the corner of Laurier and Elgin. Game shop, some historical minis and books, loads of GW.

2) Hobby House: 80 Montreal Road, Ottawa: plastic models, trains, magazines, Osprey and other military.

3) Hobby Centre: 6-33 Roydon Place, Ottawa

4) The Book Bazaar: 417 Bank St, Ottawa, nice military selection at the back near the cash.

Thanks Dave. I'm not sure where I'll be staying yet but probably downtown. I'm trying to arrange the visit so I'll be there the weekend of Cangames.

If you stay downtown, walking reach are, in order, 1, 4, 2. As is the Rideau Curling Club where Cangames is held.

#3 you need a car or cab. (well, or bus I suppose)

Is Fandom still closed on Mondays?

Fandom is closed on Mondays and does not accept CreditCards You can pay by cash or Debit card.

Fandom has very little Historial material ecept for some Flames of War and books Lots of GW and the shop specialies in Board and Card gamess.

If CANGAMES keeps to its normal patter there will be a very limited aailability of Historial figures but you may get lucky in the market Check out the website to see when the Historical games will be on There won't be that many compared to a larger UK or US con but they will all be of excellent quality.

I think there will be a Jacobite siege (of Fort William).

You could also try Freres de Bataille in Gatineau.
