A revolutionary new material called Composite Metal Foam, or CMF, can pulverize enemy rounds and could even be used as an armor to protect tanks and other combat vehicles…

Even if it's Fox News, I find any source of such North Korean-like grandiose proclamations as "New foam armor for tanks can pulverize enemies" and "MARINES' ULTRA-POWERFUL HEAVILY-ARMED MEGA-DRONE WILL DEVASTATE ENEMIES OF THE US" to be suspect.

Didn't need the rant against Fox News; plenty of other news sites do similar.

But this looks like a worthwhile development for armored vehicles. Anything that cuts weight and gives same protection is a good thing. Heck, wonder if it has uses for personal body armor?

Interesting idea worth hearing about. But I don't think the columnist quite gets it comparing the stopping power to the penetrating power of a .30 cal. round. Let's hear what it does to a 130mm round.

Yes, but most importantly … can we use it to make terrain? :)
