This year's con was held over the last weekend, April 5th to 7th. In between running a couple games, meeting up with old friends (and making new ones), and attending as many "War College" events as possible, I managed to get pictures of most of the games:

I hope you enjoy,

I only post the best of the photos I capture . . . about 1/3 to 1/2 of them. I have about a half dozen more of Jurgen's India game from this year, but they're not quite as interesting and the set was already getting a little large.

He runs one every year. If you like, you can go through my photo albums from this convention going back over a decade and see what else he's done. Last year's was particularly good:

I got to complete a bucket list item by finally wargaming the 1781 Battle of the Chesapeake:

I've been wanting to game this battle for years, and the one time I tried to run it myself I got only one player and couldn't play the game. It was wonderful to finally get it on the table, and even better, play it to completion with genuine fleet action rules.

I admit I am a bit conflicted that I helped Britain win the battle, and decisively at that (for an 18th C. naval battle anyway). It's quite possible I may have prevented the birth of my own country by decimating French sea power at the most critical juncture of the Revolutionary War…

Special kudos to War Artisan for making this battle work in 1/900 scale. We even fit the whole thing on a 6'x8' table. I would not have thought either of those things to be practicable.

PS: That bottle on the table in the upper right is actually rum, brought by the British van admiral with the statement "I'm not going to play a naval game without rum!". grin

What rules did you use for that huge battle, Yellow Admiral?

Over the years I've heard nothing but good things about this convention. For the life of me, I can't figure out why I've not gone to one yet?? Well its on my list for next year!!!
