I just received an order from Fife and Drum – South Carolina continentals and various civilians + Francis Marion. The order came quickly but the real point of the post is the quality of the figures. These are beautiful figures and I hope to have the SC Continentals ready for Historicon (I'm a very slow painter). The civilian figures are great for placing on farms, etc and really improve the look of the table. I used the blacksmith figures in a Cold Wars game and was very pleased. |

I truly enjoy painting the Fife & Drum figures, and the proprietor is a pleasure to work with. |

Jim is first class, and the figures are some of the very best out there. You need to visit the Fife and Drum Forum. Lots of great stuff from some very talented individuals. fifeanddrumminis.proboards.com |

Jim is a great guy, selling first class figures. |

If I had to pick just one manufacturer regardless of period/genre/scale, it would be Fife and Drum. And yes, Jim is the model gentleman. |

I whole hearted agree. F&D (and Minden) make up a vast amount of my AWI troops. |

Cannot say enough good things about the miniatures, and about Jim. Both are first class. |

Agree totally. The sculpting and casting quality are first class. The figures only take moments to clean up with a file. They are lovely models to paint. Jim P. offers a first class level of service. |

I can't really add anything as all the superlatives have been used up. But F&D and Jim are both excellent (and this is from a dyed-in-the-wool Perry fan). |

Sounds all good but how do they compare style wise with Foundry, Perry and Front Rank? |
Winston Smith | 06 Apr 2018 2:08 p.m. PST |
Foundry, Perry and Front Rank are all as tall as F&D. However, all are bulkier, particularly FR. Fife and Drum are anatomically correct, while others are almost caricatures. It bothers some people that they "don't match". It doesn't bother me at all. Such concerns are for those who hold figures in front of their noses and sniff. Mine are for fighting on the table where stylistic differences are invisible. |

Agree with Winston Smith. Usually, I don't intermix within a unit, but I'm using F&D, Perry, Old Glory and Foundry and they look good. I did use F&D continental dragoons with Old Glory dragoons and it looked fine. |

For my "Commands & Colors: Tricorne" 28mm project I used Perry plastics for the regulars and F&D minis for the British elites, militia and cavalry. They look good together on the battlefield. |

I've just ordered some Continentals, infantry and artillery, from Fife and Drum and am looking forward to painting them. |

I received my order from Fife and Drum today, and the figures are excellent-crisp castings with excellent detail and they are proportional, not like some of the wargame figures I have seen. Highly recommended. |

How about that!!! Keven and I agree on something. Jim is a good guy and I own several hundred of his figures to use for the Philly Campaign. |
