NEXT TWO NAPOLEONIC SCENARIO BOOKS BY MICHAEL HOPPER:
The Roads to Vienna & Blood Along the Danube:

Michael Hopper is the author & publisher.

These are available to order now and will be shipping from Mid May 2018.

There are 4 volumes for this theatre. There are many other volumes pending for other campaigns of Napoleon as long as the production costs are covered. This is a labor of love and his passion for the hobby.

These are available directly from Michael Hopper.
You can email Michael directly – log1cal.mh@gmail.com

These are about 56-60 pages packed with typically 18-25 scenarios – many of which you may never have seen before or in such detail – not just the large battles, but the many actions and battles that took place over the course of the campaign.

Books on the Peninsula are slataed to be the next two to be printed.

Michael Hopper is the author of the prior "Rise of Eagles" scenario book which covered the 1805 Austerlitz campaign. This book is available also for purchase.

These new scenario books are not rules specific, nor do they require any re-basing. Suitable to use with many rules sets. They are extremely well researched using sources in multiple languages. Pages are filled with scenario information and you will not find pages of pictures of miniatures or uniform guides – these are action packed pages with just the necessary information and a few bios and tidbits to fill gaps.

Highly recommended. These will be available only in small print runs, so order early and frequently as they are released.

Books are priced in Canadian Dollars – so be sure to send in CAD via PayPal when ordering. Save on shipping by ordering multipe books at the same time! (2-8 books are only $8.00 USD CAD if shipping to the USA!

Canadian and international are shipped from Canada with price on a per order basis depending on destination and weight.

I have both of the last two, excellent scenario books!

grecian195904 Apr 2018 11:26 a.m. PST

I concur fully
I got Michaels last few scenario books and not only are they an excellent wargames aid whatever rules you are using they provide well researched scenarios from 1809. So I'll be getting the next two !!!

Totally agree that the previous books have been excellent.

Have already pre ordered the new books.

Fredloan04 Apr 2018 2:50 p.m. PST

Books are a must, I have the first two;

Eagles Over Bavaria and Duel of the Princes

I have only played one scenario; I am trying to paint up some Wurttembergers and Italians so I can play most of them this year.

Just received word from Michael that he has some copies ready to send out to customers.

I've ordered mine already.

Fredloan12 May 2018 11:29 a.m. PST

Order placed yesterday

gunnertog27 May 2018 12:43 p.m. PST

Received both books last week, usual 6 days to get to Scotland, & they are both tremendous.
"The Roads to Vienna" focusing on Aspern-Essling & "Blood Along The Danube" detailing Wagram & retreat to Znaim.

As usual production is superb, detailed OOB's & wargame friendly maps. Battles ranging from small scale skirmishes to Grand Scale Wagram.

Thoroughly recommended to anybody with even a passing interest to gaming the 1809 campaign.

Arghhh – so do I buy now, or wait for my brother to get them for me for Christmas…

he got me the first two – excellent books

gunnertog29 May 2018 7:17 a.m. PST

Marc

Buy them now & play some of the scenarios, I'm planning Aspern-Essling day 1 as I write this.

Marc at work30 May 2018 7:40 a.m. PST

Hmmm – tempting. But I need to paint my Badeners first

gunnertog30 May 2018 9:33 a.m. PST

Agree Marc, I've 1 battalion painted but need at least 1 more & I also need to paint my Hesse battalions, which I've used some Perry's Rheinbund figures for.
Theres's also my Tirraileurs Corses & Po to finish, so plenty to get on with to be historically accurate, although I may use my Bavarians to substitute for Badeners.

So little time & so many figures to paint.

Froglidite31 May 2018 11:22 a.m. PST

I purchased all 5 books (4-1809 and the 1805 book). Excellent work! I am very happy all these volumes and the scenarios will give me many many games for years to come. Highly recommended!

AlexanderIII29 Jun 2018 10:17 p.m. PST

Hi all,

Are these books writting for Shako II or for any Nappy system using battalion/brigade scale?

Phil

gunnertog02 Jul 2018 1:46 p.m. PST

Phil

They are adaptable to any rule system, that's their great value.
Accurate OOB, wargame friendly maps & a potted history of events leading up to the battle & the battle itself.
Hope that helps.

Au pas de Charge13 Jul 2018 5:53 p.m. PST

I have all 5 books too. Good stuff.

I hear the "Perfidious Albion" British in the peninsula and/or little battles all over the place volume is coming soon. I am eager for this release.

von Schwartz28 Jul 2018 5:35 p.m. PST

Has anyone ever done or considered doing some 1809 scenarios in Western Europe i.e. Denmark, Pomerania, etc.? I found some sketchy OOBs for some of the combatants here such as the Swedes, the Danes, the French, Westphalians, and Austrian, but I have never seen a good scenario. That may be due to the fact that my old Napoleonic group were dead set on using Empire 3 for our Napoleonic engagements. For those unfamiliar with Empire 3 if you were pre-1812 Austrian, Prussian, or Russian you need not show-up, you lost!

What Happened to the British Scenario Book?

Michael Hopper14 Oct 2018 6:45 p.m. PST

I was advised of this inquiry. My family experienced a death in the immediate family. As Executor, dealing with two estates this year, I shelved the final proof reading until I have fulfilled my duties, or retire from my current day job.

I appreciate the interest, sincerely. Unfortunately life got in the way and took priority.

All the best

Michael Hopper
