Any recommendation on books on the Meuse-Argonne offensive? I am especially looking for books that are well researched by reputable military historians. |

I have Lengel's To Conquer Hell. It is a decent read, with some first person accounts, but mostly from a higher command perspective. It is the only book I have that covers the campaign as a while. |

"Betrayal at Little Gibraltar" by William Walker. First class account of the St Mihiel Offensive plus a damning expose' of some ugly political infighting within the AEF command. Lots of great scenario themes as well. Written by a fanatic on the period, which is the highest praise I can bestow upon any book of history. Go here – betrayalww1.com – for an introduction to the book. B |
