Has anyone played this yet?
I'm also interested in the possibility of using smaller scale aircraft —
Wonder if the aircraft traits will be made available apart from
Purchasing the 6 plane 1/200 sets which are a bit pricy…

They work for any scale planes. What you need are the aircraft profiles and trait cards. I have a feeling they will want to make you buy a squadron box for each aircraft to get these.

The rules are a free download on Warlords store, with Spitfire and Bf109 stats…which are identical.

I really hope that's an "evenly-matched, gets-you-started" simplification.

You have cards that differentiate the planes, me109 dives better, spit turns quicker.
