so I have the three British Grenadier scenario books but i'm looking for some simpler rules than British Grenadier. does anyone have easy conversions to ascertain the number of figures for a given rule set. For example, if BG scenario books say "16 figures" for a given unit what does that equate to with another rule set such as Guns of Liberty, Peter Pig, Blackpowder, and Sharpe Practice. Thanks! thanks! |

I play with my homegrown Sword and the Flame variant, Flames of Liberty. If the BG scenario says 16 figures, I use 16 figures. Of course figure availability enters into it to. I use the books as guidelines, and not as law etched in stone. |

Usually it says in the book what the ratio is, but if it doesn't it is usually 20 to 1. |

Dan – There are actually four BG Scenario Books. As HG says, the ratio is usually 1 figure = 20 real men; where a particular scenario uses a smaller figure:man ratio, it will say in the text (and usually explain why). |

Using my own DBX variant on a small table. Start with 1 stand per unit in the BG scenario. If I want a bigger game, I can increase the number of stands representing the larger units to 2 or 3. |

Thanks everyone. I posted this same question on the Scenarios board and "22nd foot" noted: ………………………………. The standard figure scale in British Grenadier is 1:20. So you'd get the number in another rules set by: BG Figures x 20 x New Game Ratio Using your sixteen figure battalion converted to a 1:33 figure ratio set as an example: 16 x 20 x 1/33 = 9.6969 Hope this helps. |

To make things easier, you can round that up. To 9.7. |

Use a "true 25mm" figure for the 0.7 figure. |

Good call – 15mm would only be 0.6. |
