I know that Russian units carried either line or jaguar infantry standards. My question is whether or not they still carried color flags for individual regiments. Moreover, were the colors and patterns unique to individual regiments, or simply that every first reg of any div had one color and the 2nd another? I think this did not occur until 1857. Finally if individual regimental flags were used, how similar were they to Napoleonic versions? I'm painting these in 15mm scale.

Regimental colors were standardized for line and jaeger regiments by the time of the Crimean War. Guard flags were still different. The flags were of a similar pattern to those of the 1803 flag issue, but all were green with piping around the green color in either blue, red or white depending upon type of service and year of issue.

Any news as to when/if David Ramage of Battle Flags will do Russian flags? I recently picked up some of his British flags, and they are pretty good. And extensive.

what are some good images of these Russian flags? Quality doesn't have to be perfect, but what is a jaguar standard?
