As the current head of the Stuart branch. Should he reignite the Jacobite cause?

Paul B25 Mar 2018 9:41 a.m. PST

The Stuarts were arguably the worst family of monarchs we ever had, but nowadays it doesn't really matter – one lot of parasites is the same as another.

Is that a firm yes for bravarian invasion of the British Isles?

robert piepenbrink Supporting Member of TMP25 Mar 2018 9:53 a.m. PST

PaulB trust me on this one. It makes a lot of difference. You want the intelligent sort of parasite who understands the difference between sheering sheep and flaying them.

But this is a miniatures forum. Do we really want to discuss politics?

AussieAndy25 Mar 2018 10:38 a.m. PST

"sheering sheep"?

I'm a republican, but I would have thought that the House of Windsor would help to generate an amount of income from tourists which would exceed their cost to the public purse many times over.

Don't think the old boy could get all the way up the beach.

He's a Duke I assume he can afford an off road mobility scooter.
How powerful is the bravarian military these days?

Parasites kill the host. The British royal family seems more symbiotic.

Is our current Queen not the head of the Stuarts ? as she is a direct descendent of Charles 1 sister Elizabeth of Bohemia . link

From what I read, he is rather bemused at being the legitimate pretender. If that's his true title.
But his heirs!

My error. Should have been "shearing" the sheep.

Still, gentlemen, are you sure you've thought this through? If the Stuart claim is accepted as legitimate, then the King in Parliament have not met since 1688, and HM has never given his consent to all those new-fangled innovations like extensions of the franchise, limitations on the royal authority and the consent of the House of Lords not being needed for legislation. The House of Windsor might be a tourist attraction and soap opera. The restored House of Stuart-Wittelsbach would not reign, but rule.

Personally, though, if I were head of the House of Wittelsbach, I'd tell the English to solve their own problems, nullify the German Empire and declare Bavaria a sovereign state and kingdom again. Given the state of German politics these days, I might get away with it.

And we have the miniatures! Take your ultra-modern and Cold War Gone Hot Germans, paint blue and white armbands on some and gold-red-black armbands on the others, and break out every hill and mountain in your toybox. It's not as though the old soldiers among us have never fought at Hohenfels before.

The Bravarians? The sworn enemies of Archduke Frederick of Hollywood and the Bustenhalter dynasty?

Yes!!!

He should do it now for Sophie, Hereditary Princess of Liechtenstein, so she can inherit her rightful throne upon his passing. ^,^

Ah, what the hell, why not?

Let's get some European Drama going to distract from the horrible misery in the Middle East.

So now we know Victoria's secret

No, he can buy a ticket like everyone else.

Train, airplane, ferry. Whatever appeals to him.

"Should Franz, Duke of Bavaria invade England?"

With what? The Bavarian navy? Or is he going to invade on the Eurostar?

He should do it now for Sophie, Hereditary Princess of Liechtenstein, so she can inherit her rightful throne upon his passing. ^,^

Her first child, Joseph, was born in London – the first Jacobite born in the British Isles for 300 years.

[Sophie's] first child, Joseph, was born in London – the first Jacobite born in the British Isles for 300 years.

It's a sign! Invade using the ferry from Oostend. Once the Duke is on the water, a Sovereignty Goddess will emerge and Arthur will return to personally crown the rightful heir!

[I once drove from Scotland to Bavaria using that ferry!]

Cerdic26 Mar 2018 11:17 p.m. PST

Scotland?

There you go! If the Scots go for the independence thing they have a king all ready and waiting…

Green Tiger27 Mar 2018 5:40 a.m. PST

Yes – we could do with a good succession struggle.
