If the Stuart claim is accepted as legitimate, then the King in Parliament have not met since 1688, and HM has never given his consent to all those new-fangled innovations like extensions of the franchise, limitations on the royal authority and the consent of the House of Lords not being needed for legislation. The House of Windsor might be a tourist attraction and soap opera. The restored House of Stuart-Wittelsbach would not reign, but rule.

Personally, though, if I were head of the House of Wittelsbach, I'd tell the English to solve their own problems, nullify the German Empire and declare Bavaria a sovereign state and kingdom again. Given the state of German politics these days, I might get away with it.
