It's great to see some of these classic toys back on the market, but too bad you can't still get them for under a dollar a bag. I still have all my originals from the 1950's, including the jeep & AT gun, but they have gotten a bit brittle over the years. |

These and the Lido GIs were very common in my old neighborhood. We had a lot of fun with them. They may be crude, especially compared to Marx or Airfix, but they were fun. |

The toy soldiers that really should be reissued were those made by Ideal. They were real works of art, beautifully proportioned and posed (but much larger in scale--probably somewhere around 70mm in height. |

Ideal figures are recast from time to time. It has been a while since the last round of recasts. Indeed, they stand about 70mm tall. Nice, well-animated poses. |
