Lets party with Cossacks | 23 Mar 2018 9:32 a.m. PST |
Have not been able to find any Russians in Greatcoats, so conversion options appear to be: Old Glory Prussian Landwehr Magister Militum Opolochenie Pendraken Crimean Russians in Greatcoats and cap Head dress can be modified to resemble oilskin covers and back packs can easily have a silver canteen added, so the worst of mismatches overcome. At 10mm there are limits to detail so even non Napoleonic sculpts can sometimes be used. Would anyone know of any other suggestions? For some reason many 10mm manufacturers do not seem to have their entire ranges photographed. |

I converted Prussian landwehr into cossacks for 15mm artillerists, any previous era figures you can use, cossacks seem to be able to wear most anything. |

Given the options, I would go for the MM Opolochenie or Crimean Russians. In addition, I'd be inclined to leave both of them in caps. |

Thank you 138Sqdn and Womble67. Am checking out MM Crimean Russians in Greatcoats as well. An option is to go predominantly with the Pendraken sculpts, which I prefer, and mix the others in for some variation. |

MM figures are a little larger than Pendraken. I will use them in the same army but I try to avoid mixing them in the same unit. The exception was Spanish guerrilla where they're not on the same base. Couldn't get a photo of the two manufacturers in one shot, here's a guide. Firing figures are MM, others are Pendraken. link link |
