Are Foundry Falschirmjagers wearing a smock that is suitable for camo for later WW2 or just self-coloured?

The Foundry figures have early type smocks which were in grey green but on a 28mm figure, you can barely see the difference.

The visible difference is the way the legs are constructed. The early smocks have fixed legs so always look like shorts. The later smocks had legs which could be unbuttoned so that the smock could be worn like shorts or like a laboratory coat.

Yes – Splittermuster 31 or Luftwaffe Splittermuster 41 would be most likely. Sumpfmuster would also be possible. Here are some guides that I did several years ago.
