AS reported at Adepticon. YouTube link
Also it looks like they are releasing an even bigger knight model with more guns and exhaust systems. Along with codicies for deathwatch, knights and harlequins. |

While GW has finally confirmed plastic Sisters of Battle, I'm still skeptical. |
GypsyComet | 22 Mar 2018 4:22 a.m. PST |
I'm slightly more optimistic about this than I maybe should be, given GW's track record with female sculpts. At least Sisters have their full armor to work with; the new Escher are not GW's finest work by any stretch. |
alpha3six | 22 Mar 2018 4:35 a.m. PST |
Judging by the revised Celestine model, the new models should be alright. |
Centurio Prime | 22 Mar 2018 5:19 a.m. PST |
The old Sisters look like transvestites, maybe GW was ahead of their time. |
Centurio Prime | 22 Mar 2018 5:20 a.m. PST |
I'm definitely buying at least a squad of new sisters of battle and a Castellan Knight. |
Pictors Studio | 22 Mar 2018 6:45 a.m. PST |
I really like the new Escher figures, I think they are some of the better female figures out there. I have never been a huge fan of the sisters and probably won't start an army but I bet the figures will look great. |
JimSelzer | 22 Mar 2018 7:35 a.m. PST |
Nothing odd about GW's female sculpts as they are designed for GW's 14 year old fan boy base not mature adults, so I wait with tempered hope that they come off better than ok and make me wish I had held on to my original Sisters bunch |
Centurio Prime | 22 Mar 2018 7:36 a.m. PST |
The sisters that come with Celestine look great BTW. |
15mm and 28mm Fanatik | 22 Mar 2018 11:21 a.m. PST |
Oh yeah! I've been clamoring for new plastic sisters for a long time. The fanatical "nuns with guns" will definitely be my next army. It'll also be interesting to see if GW releases new Immolators and Exorcists. A dedicated flyer is a must at least. I haven't started a new 40K (or 30K) army in 10 years so this says a lot about how much I want this. |
Grimdark Future Fan | 22 Mar 2018 2:56 p.m. PST |
Sisters players never needed new models. We only ever needed new rules. |
GypsyComet | 24 Mar 2018 2:09 p.m. PST |
if GW releases new Immolators and Exorcists The Immolator made the jump to the modern Rhino chassis already, while the Exorcist never did. As such I would expect one revisit, and would prefer to see some all new options as well. |

GW's female sculpts as they are designed for GW's 14 year old fan boy base We were discussing GWs more recent female figures at the FLGS today, and the example of the Everqueen (Elf character model for Age of Sigmar) came up. While I have not seen the model in person, the face in the picture on the box looks neither female nor Elven. That might be just the paint work, something else GW struggles with on some female miniatures, but it doesn't look that way. |
Crazyivanov | 25 Mar 2018 7:10 p.m. PST |
Gypsy, the new paint teams at GW are really bad at making things look good. I've seen the Everqueen looking nice, just not painted by the GW crew. |
alpha3six | 26 Mar 2018 6:55 a.m. PST |
On the subject of the Everqueen, take a look at this painted model : link The difference between this one and the gw one is like night and day. |
GypsyComet | 27 Mar 2018 8:47 a.m. PST |
That looks much better, and certainly female. Still not sure that's an Elf, though. GW's Elves are ultimately descended from their old Melnibonean line, pre WFB. The still current (I think) male troops show that ancestry, while the current Everqueen is more Busby Berkeley. Those are swimmer's legs, which is perhaps fitting since the model is surfing on a giant bug. So the GW track record with female models remains mixed. I do have some new Escher on the way, so I'll be able to judge them based on something other than box pictures shortly. |
Centurio Prime | 27 Mar 2018 11:15 a.m. PST |
The Everqueen isn't exactly an elf, she's like 12' tall. |
Pictors Studio | 27 Mar 2018 2:19 p.m. PST |
Yeah, she is a forest goddess, not an elf. More like a dryad actually. |
chromedog | 08 Apr 2018 7:15 p.m. PST |
Well, they officially jumped the shark with turtle riding wet elves, so I don't think anything is beyond them anymore. |

For me it "was" the shark. |

That S for Sisters sticks out like a sore thumb for me now. It should be Gold or something. Why did I every mention it! They look nice, but like Escher, would never be able to even pick up those guns, let alone Fire them effectively. Luckily it is fiction, so I can stress less. Oh, yes, power armour, doh! |
