Yup, I guess the Indoneth Deepkin are going to be Elves riding all manner of sea beasties, fantasy sea beasties that is.
So far this is one new release that isn't drawing me in. They look like pretty cool models and some of them will probably make their way into my collection but I think if I start another AoS army, especially an Elf army, it will be Daughters of Khaine.
The pet octopus is pretty cool though.
If the lore grabs me I might be pulled more into them. I do like the regular troops and how they look more so than the monster riders. The guys without eyes are pretty wicked looking.

That turtle beast is great. Might have to get one for use as an Oldhammer Stegodon proxy. |

So much Dark Eldar conversion potential… |

I have the opposite preference.. I love the cav but like the infantry less, except for the heroes… which look awesome. |

Do they fly, or do these battles take place underwater? |
Pictors Studio | 22 Mar 2018 6:47 a.m. PST |
I don't know. I think it would be cooler if the battles took place underwater but I don't know who they would fight with. Maybe the Arkanaughts? |

Sea Monkeys!! If they were underwater, I would expect them to be more aerodynamic, er, hydrodynamic. Cool concept, though and some nice sculpts in there. |

Generally most AoS stuff leaves me cold and pretty much sucks in my book. These I actually really like. I have no idea how you would game with them though unless the opposition were also water based. A few of them might be good for underwater based RPG adventures though. |

Nice sculpts, but metal armor underwater is impractical. Wish they would have used shell armor, instead. Cheers! |

Those bases certainly do not look very much underwater, though some of the background scenery shown is different. For practical gaming purposes, how about posing the sea-monsters so that they are just skimming the surface of the water, by glueing the beasts straight to thin bases (painted to look like water), maybe trimming a bit from their bellies so that they look like they are still partially underwater. They could then be used to raid a group of less aquatic invaders that travel in small boats, with the whole table representing sea – except for a bunch of small islands to provide terrain. |

There are days when I'm actually kinda tempted to try fantasy gaming, this is one of those days. |

Hi Guys, In the Black Company books by Glen Cook the Land of Fear seems to have aquatic animals that are swimming/flying in the terrestial atmospheres. Perhaps these minis are like that. Thinking cross-dimensional beings here. |

Mithmee that was the best comment I've ever seen you make on here |

I haven't read the background yet because the book isn't out, but I will try to help with the reality in this thread. My understanding is that these elves were created by Teclis but ran away and hid for thousands of years, apparently underwater. The are flying because there would not be an AoS army that is restricted to underwater battles. Mithril or Dolphin-forged armor or whatever it is would not rust, so there is no problem there. Those are not sharks, they are some kind of sea serpent or eel, so its not Elves riding sharks. I have actual shark riding miniatures from Arduin, but they are goblins and they are riding actual flying sharks, not whatever those things are. |

I do see that in one picture there is a mount I didn't notice that has a shark tail and toothy mouth, so maybe there are some actual sharks being ridden. Looks like the majority are eels or whatever though :) |

That might just be the hammerhead for a larger range of sharks. And don't forget that flying shark models may also be useful for anybody planning on playing games based on the Sharknado movies. |

Curious: can you elaborate on "Dolphin forged armor"? Intriguing idea! Wondering what it could be/how it might be done? Cheers! |
Centurio Prime | 23 Mar 2018 8:15 a.m. PST |
Dolphin-forged is just something I made up off the top of my head, sorry |

I was looking to see some non-dark elves, but I think these guys look kinda dark. They're very pretty, though the only ones I really like are the first couple of eel riders. I don't care for the bald. I suppose they are intentionally trying to get away from the high elf look, but that's the only thing that might have tempted me. Except I wouldn't have bit, since I like my LotR high elves. Will there be more, different elves (or Aelves or whatever) in the future? andy |

Never heard of these guys before, but VERY cool looking! I may actually invest in an army! :-O |
