…in 2007. "Israel has for the first time confirmed that it destroyed a suspected nuclear reactor being built in Syria in 2007.
The military said fighter jets bombed the al-Kibar facility in Deir al-Zour province, 450km (280 miles) north-east of Damascus, as it neared completion. The Israeli defence minister said the public acknowledgement of the strike after more than 10 years of secrecy was a message to his country's enemies. As mentioned in the article, it was widely accepted that Israel had bombed the facility. I never knew that it was in doubt. Never knew that they did not claim responsibility before. There have been documentaries about it, some are even available on you tube. |

There is an enormous difference between "everyone believes that the Israelis bombed this facility" and Israel saying "we bombed this facility, what are you going to do about it?" |

Good on 'em, hope they do it again. Assad continues to use chemical weapons on his own people, heaven help them if he had nuclear weapons, or waste, or used fuel rods to drop on them, probably wouldn't think twice about doing it. |
