I'm in the process of painting up some Bolt Action Japanese and a curious question has arisen which is how do you paint glasses on Bolt Action figures that have Glasses. So far I've only seen this on some Japanese figures so how do I do this. And one other thing which deals with the same question what about the lenses themselves? Now I was thinking of just painting the lenses Lt Blue. So what do you think? Michael |

I've done silver with a fine white line angling across it. |

I have rarely seen this done well, people usually look as though they are wearing heavy goggles. Less is more in this case, be as minimalistic as you can. |

If the eyes are sculpted behind the frames, try painting the figure and matte varnishing as usual. Then apply a drop of clear material in lens area-- good options are Future/Klear acrylic floor finish, 2- part clear epoxy (be careful not to overmix and create bubbles), or Crystal Clear (used for creating plastic model windows or instrument panel lenses). |

I think I've used light blue with a thin silver streak on some glasses too. |

As a glasses wearer…. Unless they are dark glasses or have tinted lenses paint the lens with whatever flesh colour you are using, and decide whether to paint the eye in. |
