Well, here you go! Here we are again with a convention in the rear view mirror, and we're left.. only with the memories… and cheapjack geegaws we bought while there!

Here, then, in keeping with my tradition of posting convention AARs on my blog, is my latest Cold Wars travelogue: link

I embedded two instagram video links. If they aren't showing in your browser, the direct link is below them.

Enjoy, and thanks for your time!

Walt,

A nice overview of the con. Decent, but not great, and some issues that could make HCON a real challenge. Let's hope the Host makes some progress as the weather warms.

While I agree with you about the very fast pre-reg process, I am a tad worried about the security. I think I could have picked up your badge and walked away. No real security here, even though a staffer was overseeing the process.

@pzivh43…
Yes, the security was a thought, but remember… it will not work that way at future shows…

In the future, you will have to either print out your QR code to scan on site, use your smart phone and scan it from your email or type in your "code" generated when your QR was done…. that about closes the door on that security breach.

Sooooo, Walt: are you getting your "Hostgrave: Fantasy Wargames in the Crumbled Convention Center" game registered in the PEL? You only have until April 11 to get it in, so put that application in! And I'll be pre-reg'd for it when Online Registration comes up.

p.s.--take a look at the click-on map on the Host description--It already reads "Maim Lobby", so you have a head-start on the scenario!

@Poniatowski,

Hmm, assumes technical expertise some of us grognards probably don't have!

Dan, it's ok, I can translate technonerd to Common Tongue:

QR code is a square image with lots of digital squiggles, what one might think of as "iPhone squares".

Walt thanks for taking the time to post and uploading photos.

I just hope they have the A/C working for HCon…

But maybe it is if it was warm enough inside despite the weather outside?

Well, one of the to bring" items might be floor-stand oscillating fans to circulate the air; Heritage Room benefited from several of these _and_ 2 floor-model airconditioners on Saturday night.
