Howdy,
Last Friday evening at Cold Wars, the Blue Force went On Patrol – In the Stans. This was the first game where the Muffintops won a clear, uncontested victory. Played using 15mm figures. Rules: Modified MUF (Men Under Fire from Test of Battle Games).
First, the terrain:
Photo 1 – Blue forces would be moving right to left toward the town.
Photo 2 – Blue forces would be moving from foreground across the table toward the village
… and the action begins:
Photo 3 – Blue forces move onto the table
Photo 4 – Red force (Muffintop) deployments
Photo 5 – Second squad encounteres an IED at the bridge, two down!
The Muffintops had deployed a MG in Ackmed's house covering the bridge. 2nd squad moves into the rough ground to avoid a direct approach.

Photo 7 – Approaching the edge of the village "The LT is hit!"
Photo 8 – Along the main road a firefight develops. Blue fire superiority pushes the Muffintops back into cover
Photo 9 – The Muffintops make a fatal decision to creep back to the front of the orchard
At this point, one Muffintop squad has taken heavy losses, while the second has fallen back to the village and taken a good position. The Blue force sensing victory, rush forward only to be met by a curtain of fire.
Photo 10 – Along the main road, death.
Photo 11 – … and on the other flank, death … run away!
The Blue Force player believing the Red Force on the run, closed in, and found the Red Forces weren't dead yet. This serendipitous ambush of the Blue Force gave victory to the Muffintops.
Blue Force casualties included the gallant LT, recon SGT and four troopers.
