Beren and Luthien Escape from Angband, First Age, (Chainmail) Thursday 11AM and 6PM6
After the theft of a Silmaril from Morgoth's Iron Crown, the lovers flee back to Doriath. Home of Luthien's father, King Thingol. Accompanied by Huan, the Hound of the Valinor, they are pursued. Morgoth empties the fell beasts and Orcs of Angand to find them. The maddened giant wolf, Carcharoth, is also on their trail. Elves from Doth Lath, and Dwarven allies from Belegost, sortie out to rescue them. Can they make it to the safety of The Girdle of Melian?
Fulda Gap, 1938 (Jagdpanzer), Friday 11AM and 6PM
As the morning fogs slowly burns off, in central Germany, the sounds of thousands of vehicles can be heard. Sporadic gun fire rings outs from time to time, accompanied by fireballs somewhere in the mist. Advancing overnight from their staging areas, the Warsaw Pact forces have crossed the border, in force. Many of us remember the real threat, we lived with on a daily basis, in the 70's and 80's. The nightmare of a Soviet surprise attack, is happening. WP and Nato doctrine will clash on the battlefield, and leave only one victor. But this is not 1988, back the technology back 50 years, to 1938. Can the American Combat Cars, stop the Soviet BT 5's? Which new prototype weapons can swing the balance?
Morgoth Invades Beleriand and the Return of the Noldor [Dagor-Nuin-Giliath] First and second battles Battles in Beleriand. Friday 6PM
Morgoth decided to invade Beleriand to wipe out the Sindar before the Noldor arrived to contest his possession of the Silmarils. King Thingol of Menegroth was able to rally Denethor and the Elves of Ossiriand to engage and destroy all the orcs who marched south of Dorthonion. However, orc bands besieged the ports in the west of Brithombar and Eglarest. Thus ended the first battle. When Feanor arrived, unexpectedly in Swan vessels, Morgoth vowed to crush him with a single blow. He assailed the Noldor around Lake Mithrim but found the Elves mighty! His forces were annihilated and the Noldor made their own attack on the gates of Angband. But lo! Feanor and the van were surprised by Balrogs and killed within sight of Thangorodrim. Glorious Battle Dagor Aglareb Third Battle in Beleriand. Saturday 10AM
Morgoth hated the Elves and wanted to disrupt their labors in Beleriand. Sixty years after his last attempt, orcs again poured out of Angband but this time headed straight for Dorthonion. They set fire to the great pine forests but were caught between the forces of Fingolfin and Maedhros and obliterated. This began the four hundreds year peace and the leaguer kept around Angband. The Battle of Sudden Flame Dagor Bragollach Fourth Battle in Beleriand. Saturday 6PM
During the four hundred years peace, the caves of Nargothrond and the hidden fastness of Gondolin were built. In his envy, Morgoth had spawned vast legions of orcs and prepared them to emerge from Angband with even greater fury. The Fourth Battle was preceded by huge rivers of flames gushing out of Thangorodrim and onto the plains. The orcs followed, led by Balrogs, and a new terror, the firedrake Glaurung! The West held against the onslaught but, in the end, the East was lost! This defeat was multiplied by the death of Fingolfin who challenged Morgoth to individual combat before the gates of Angband. He wounded him many times but could not prevail against Grond, the Hammer of the Underworld, and fell. Beaten on the ground the government of DevlinIV hires Hammer's Slammers to defend their last facility. Battle of Cantigny WW1 (Jagdpanzer), Friday 7:30PM
2018 is the 100th Anniversary of the United States involvement in WWI. The first major battle planned and performed by the American Expeditionary Force occurred on May 28 1918 on the western front of France. The 1st Division was given the task of taking out a small salient along the Western Front near the village of Cantigny. The battle was an example of combined arms including infantry, artillery, tanks and airplanes that was to mark a new way of fighting WWI. This game honors those American soldiers that proved to the world that the Yanks were "Over There" to win!
Beer Run (A Fistful of Lead Wild West), Saturday 8PM
Around the 1880's the town of Holbrook, Arizona was a wretched hive of scum and villainy where outlaws and cowboys could indulge their drinking, gambling, and general rakishness. Needless to say, gun fights were frequent and casual. The Cottage Saloon on Bucket of Blood street is running out of beer and other libations. Local teamsters have been hired to supply the saloon. The team that gets their products to the saloon first gets paid!
