It's finished! I tested the laser cut, everything fits well.
Ready for produce.

Looks good!

Question for you about the laser-cutter: how variable is the thickness of MDF and plywood?

Frank Wang19 Mar 2018 6:34 p.m. PST

@Lion in the Stars:
plywood is normally 1mm, 2mm, 3mm and thicker.
MDF is normally 3mm and 5mm.

Yes I know many company use 2 or 2.5mm MDF for terrains but I can only find suitable 3mm MDF in China.

by the way, the MDF that used for common use are different from laser cutting ones. The laser cutting ones are much harder.

Ah, guess I wasn't being clear enough. What I was asking was how much the measured thickness varied compared to the advertised standard.

I mean, the label might be 1mm, but the actual stuff can be anywhere between 0.9 and 1.1mm.

@Lion in the Stars:
sorry, my poor English. usually a little bit thinner. 3mm mdf could be around 2.8. I measured it with a caliper, but I couldn't see the difference with the naked eye.

Later i will post some sample pictures.

Would definitely be interested in seeing more modern concrete block buildings!
