Impressive!

I'm impressed as well. Lovely painting, also with your consistent basing and palette they actually look like they belong together.

Beautiful work Piers. My only negative comment, is that I think if figures are based, vehicles should be as well.

Tom Reed18 Mar 2018 6:42 p.m. PST

I'll add my WOW to all the others that have preceded it!

TacticalPainter0118 Mar 2018 6:43 p.m. PST

Great stuff, AB figures look as excellent as always, even if a few poses look ‘familiar'. Love the worn and chipped look on the helmets.

pancernijoe18 Mar 2018 7:10 p.m. PST

Great stuff. One of the few theaters I did not do in WW2 20mm….hmmmmmmmm

Only 2 Panzer IV's Piers?! Surely you need more than that. :-)
Interesting you have gone with the early Panzer II with split hatch as I thought DAK II's were either new build F's or rebuilt earlier marks uparmoured and with cupola added.

If you are all done until AB releases more then I implore AB to get busy! As always amazing.

PiersBrand19 Mar 2018 8:16 a.m. PST

Fred

Yes you are correct, almost all Panzer II in Africa were F's or C's with retrofitted cupolas. I have one pic early on in the campaign of a split hatch in North Africa but I imagine it's a bit of a rogue one… When I did them I was under some budgetary restraints and as I had some S-Model Ausf c they got used… I shall have to replace them at some point though as I like the cupola version.

As for the Panzer IVs… May add one more but I've always preferred the Panzer III to be honest! :)

Thank you all for the comments… and judging by a recent conversation with Tony at AB, I suspect desert will be added to again soon… still lots planned!

Noticed you had some of the wheel/track armored cars (I believe passed through the Austrian army prior to "unification" – cue the Song of Music…)

Who makes them?

You're starting to show some potential, Piers.

SgtGuinness09 Apr 2018 5:46 p.m. PST

Absolutely amazing!!! Beautiful work, as usual. You've got more detail on 20mm's than I've seen on most 28mm's.
Cheers,
JB
