….prepare for more attacks

" Standing on a windswept mound, Brig. Gen. Jonathan Braga pointed to the spot just a mile away from where Russian mercenaries and fighters loyal to the Syrian government fired at his soldiers.

"Those artillery rounds could have landed and killed Americans, and that's why we continue to prepare our defenses," said Braga, the director of operations for the U.S.-led anti-Islamic State coalition…."

Those mercs are paid half less than our soldiers.

To be fair, the actual troops who repelled the attack are sitting in artillery positions and airfields. The ones that called in the attacks that stopped the incursion, and that were threatened by the Sovi---err, Russian mercenary's artillery fire, however, are there at the front.

Wow. 200-300 casualties.

I guess those Ruskie mercenaries didn't read up on the power of American artillery and air. Real life sucks, huh Ivan?

This time it was the Russians who was at the wrong end. But make no mistake, the Russians know very well how to integrate airpower, artillery and drones. In other words they can do the same thing to western powers, and cause huge casualties if things go wrong.

So learn from it, western powers are not immune to artillery if things go wrong.

Not to mention the gas/chemical agents they love so much.

Except that the Russians aren't the ones who are making it for (and importing it into) Syria anymore. Not since 2012 or so.

There's a new supplier in town. The Syrians and the Free Syria Forces are both using Norinco products now. Sometimes directly from Norinco, and sometimes via intermediaries like North Korean ships. The Iranians are experts at handling Norinco canisters too.

Dan-
I was referencing the chemical attacks that originated from the Russian/Syrian airbase, Shayrat. Not to mention the very recent assassinations committed in Europe using chemical weapons.
