  Your assumption is correct: in comparison to other 3D sculptors such as Printable Scenery or Infinite Dimension Games et al, Mr. Najewitz' models look generic (stitched together from modules), lack detail, are too straight (everything is perfectly 90º) and the structures lack detail. Historical models are not always represented correctly, i.e. the style and features are incorrect and look weird. Somebody recently compared ships from this guy to Printable Scenery and confirmed the same for naval vessels.
 Unless you scale them down to something far smaller for a board game, for the details, etc., do not matter any more, there are many better products available in the marketplace.
