While it's not really miniatures related, I thought many readers might be interested in seeing a shot of my ancestor's Confederate Army Manual, that has come down to me through the years.

Lots of interesting facts like Hospital Stewards holding the same rank as Ordnance Sergeants!

I had a Confederate ancestor who made the leap from Hospital Steward to Surgeon. Supposedly one of youngest surgeons in the army. I found lots of interesting info on him through the Fold3 site including a request for two years back pay and provision rations for his horse.

Joe; that is an amazing artifact. Please keep it out of direct light and do not touch the pages with your bare skin. The oils from touching it will age and deteriorate the paper even quicker than normal.
