On a scale of zero (no organization) to 10 (perfect organization).

Timmo uk15 Mar 2018 11:25 a.m. PST

8. I have to be able to pack it all away in minutes and I can't work in mess.

Bashytubits15 Mar 2018 11:27 a.m. PST

Yet another way for people with OCD to work it out of their system.

Cacique Caribe15 Mar 2018 11:37 a.m. PST

I need to pull the glass top off and clean underneath it and there is one drawer I need to organize.

21eRegt15 Mar 2018 12:02 p.m. PST

Just cleaned and reorganized it, but still just an 8. Always too many projects going at once.

JimDuncanUK15 Mar 2018 12:07 p.m. PST

7-8, somewhere in there

I dump just about everything into a shoe box, and then dig through it till I find what I need.

princeman15 Mar 2018 12:23 p.m. PST

Ranges from 4 (near end of a project) to 6 at the start.

Maybe a 6 or 7 but a 10 when it comes to knowing where everything is.

Did a reorganization before Xmas everything is now where I can easily get it out whether in draws or boxes so it's now an 8 still a lot of projects on the bench

14Bore15 Mar 2018 1:56 p.m. PST

Both inside basement and outbuilding countertops are a mess

Striker15 Mar 2018 2:13 p.m. PST

It looks like a 5 but I know where everything is so functionally it's an 8.

Cyrus the Great15 Mar 2018 8:09 p.m. PST

0, the clutter of genius! Anything else, and I wouldn't be able to find anything.

Chuckaroobob15 Mar 2018 9:49 p.m. PST

1. on a good day. Right now its got about 6 square inches of usable space. Yeah, I mean 6 inches total, not a 6x6 inch area. Paint, tools, figs, misc crap covering everything else.

goragrad15 Mar 2018 9:52 p.m. PST

My table looks a lot like yours, David (photocrinch).

1.75. I usually use my kitchen table, but try not to make too big of a mess.

Rich Bliss16 Mar 2018 11:44 a.m. PST

It ranges from 2 to 5 depending on day and projects

razuse16 Mar 2018 1:04 p.m. PST

A 3 on a good day. A few years ago I found I had 56 different projects on the table and I was down to about a 3x5" area to paint in, it would have been in the negatives! Is better now only about 18 in progress and I have lots of working room. The projects are all in little trays but they bury the edges of the table and I've got paint everywhere.

Baranovich19 Mar 2018 9:04 a.m. PST

Mine is most assuredly a 10 at all times. Yes, there's some OCD elements involved.

But that is also put to good use as I only have one or two projects on the actual painting table at any one time. Plus I just like having everything out in front of me and to know where things are. I genuinely have a hard time focusing on what I'm painting if I'm surrounded by chaos and clutter.

The final reason is that the room where I have all my painting setup and modeling setup and work area is the same room where my actual gaming table is. So for that reason alone I need to keep that corner uncluttered so that gaming can be done without the distraction of piles of stuff everywhere.

ScoutJock22 Mar 2018 5:52 a.m. PST

Neatness of desk is inversely proportional to number of projects underway on it.

It Ain't ! Organized Chaos ! huh?

Elenderil23 Mar 2018 9:23 a.m. PST

I try to be organised but I could use a paint rack to be above an 8. I'm another who has to be able to pack things away at short notice so I have a five box solution. One big storage box for paints, brushes, flock, terrain materials and other odds and ends. A small box for tools and glue. Another to store figures glued to painting sticks and the bases they will be mounted on when finished. Last two 4 litre ‘really useful boxes' with two trays in each one for unpainted figures and one ready for the painted and based finished figures.

It's a kind of production and packing line.
