Anyone know what happened to those range of 28mm figures? AFAIK the Kickstarter eventually produced all the things it was supposed to. I certainly got all the things I pledged for, but had to wait a bit. Since then the range seems to have almost vanished. There are a few packs of Finns on the website, but the Russians are gone completely. None of the ski troops, sleds, tanks or trucks are listed either. Odd when you have made all the molds not to keep the range in production, even as a cast to order.

Baker never completed the Kickstarter, with quite a number of people not receiving any portion of their pledge.

If you read the comment section, in the Kickstarter, you will get a more complete picture. Lots of promises, very little follow through.

You were one of a "very few"

Wow I didn't know so many people didn't get stuff. I got all of mine in 2 batches. Sad end to what was a promising range. It looks like he gave to many freebies as stretch goals and ran out of funds.

Fred, if you got everything then you were indeed one of the lucky ones. I received maybe a quarter of what I paid for, others not even that much.

I have yet to receive anything – not that I am expecting to. It's a shame as the range looked good. All enthusiasm for that project has long since dwindled to naught, sadly.

I received my full order. The figures are painted and have been used in games. My buddy Zeb got most of his order. It is my understanding that they are fulfilling the pledges slowly. Apparently they offered too many stretch goal freebies and then couldn't immediately fulfill the orders. Baker Company has been very responsive to my Emails.

I received my full order: after 18 months.

Like CR above by that time I had no enthusiasm left and sold it off.

Buck -

While Baker may respond to your e-mails, he doesn't respond – in any meaningful way – to anyone else for quite sometime.

No one, on the kickstarter, has reported receiving any items from Baker in quite sometime. It doesn't seem as if any promised refunds have transpired either.

jtkimmel14 Mar 2018 11:51 a.m. PST

I received the base infantry forces and a couple support weapons from Baker Company but no response to multiple emails after that. I would love to get the rest of the items to fill the gaps in my forces, but its been ages since I've seen anyone selling their KS stuff on ebay. Battlehonours makes some Winter War figures but not everything.

18 months! That's some great customer dis-service there.

Apparently someone on here is selling the ones they did receive:

Honestly, it wasn't the 18 months in terms of literal time: it was the complete lack of communication – and – when there was it was either wrong or false.

Hey Joe,
I think I bought your Kiskstarter set about a year or so ago.

Its a shame soething like this happens and those folks who were burned are out there.

I never received so much as a single miniature, despite a rather significant investment. I've had promises from him, and even as recently as December I thought we had reached a deal where he would send me basically just the vehicles and a small number of minis, and I would write off the rest. Never arrived.

I have since purchased most of the vehicles I wanted from other sources. Which means I essentially paid twice for them. Grrrr. I am still on the lookout for a field kitchen, though, if anyone has one they would like to dump.

I cannot in good conscience recommend Baker Company to anyone.

And since then I have only supported Kickstarters with people I have either done business with in the past, come highly recommended from others I know, or with a small enough amount that I will risk it.

jtkimmel15 Mar 2018 10:21 a.m. PST

Thanks Marc, I hadn't seen that listing. I've talked to Stecal about his figures.

Fred Cartwright16 Mar 2018 3:26 a.m. PST

I may be wrong about this, but I get the impression most of the people who didn't get stuff live outside the U.K.
MacSparty what nationality of field kitchen? There is a 28mm Russian one available on Shapeways.

My pleasure JT. Aside from the problems, how is the quality of the figures?

AGamer16 Mar 2018 5:21 a.m. PST

I received some of the Finnish and Russian platoon packs, no support weapons, vehicles, add-ons….

The figures I received contained a number of bad castings. others were just crude sculpts. Overall poor quality.

MacSparty16 Mar 2018 9:15 a.m. PST

I've seen that on Shapeways and am indeed very tempted. Too bad it has to come to this though.
